BMW Berlin Marathon 2025

BMW Berlin Marathon 2025

Description

The Berlin Marathon is one of the most sought-after marathon in Europe because of its popularity as a major marathon and its flat route. Due to its fast and flat course the Berlin Marathon has produced 12 world marathon records, the last being Eluid Kipchoge’s 2:01:09 which he ran in 2022.

The Berlin Marathon was founded by local banker Horst Milde who had a passion for running in 1974 and next year the race is celebrating its 50th edition which makes it a special one.

The route for the Berlin Marathon is known to be a beautiful one and there are several iconic landmarks that you will see as you run along the route.

The starting and finishing line of the Berlin Marathon 2023 is none other than the illustrious Brandenburg Gate. This historic monument stands as a symbol of German unity and offers runners an inspiring backdrop as they commence their journey through the city’s streets.

Approximately 10 kilometers into the race, runners will pass by the Reichstag Building. This iconic structure serves as the seat of the German Parliament, and its presence on the course adds a touch of political significance to the marathon.

Around the 25-kilometer mark, runners will encounter the Victory Column, a towering testament to Prussian victory during the Franco-Prussian War. It stands as a reminder of the importance of perseverance, much like the marathon itself.

As runners approach the 35-kilometer mark, they will traverse the bustling Potsdamer Platz. This vibrant public square is home to contemporary skyscraper and modern architecture, offering a stark contrast to the historical landmarks along the way.
